Note that the following are responses to an advertisement placed in Craigslist regarding personal Bigfoot encounters. None of these responses have been edited for content, grammar, punctuation, or spelling. I wanted to make sure that their experiences were reported exactly as they were communicated to me. The dates shown represent when I received the report, not when it occurred.

THEY DO EXIST. I HAVE ONE STORY BUT IT'S SUBJECTIVE. 30 YRS AGO A FRIEND AND I RAN OUT OF GAS DRIVING THROUGH A POPULATED AREA BUT HAD A LOT OF WOODED AREAS. IT WAS 2 AM AND WE STARTED WALKING. WE ARE WALKING THROUGH THIS AREA THAT ONE SIDE OF THE ROAD WAS VERY DENSELY WOODED AND THE OTHER SIDE WOODED BUT THINNED OUT FOR SOME RESIDENTIAL. WE NOTICED THAT SOMETHING WAS SLOWLY PACING US ON THE DENSE SIDE OF
THE ROAD. WE WOULD STOP WALKING AND IT WOULD STOP. WE WOULD WALK FASTER AND IT WOULD WALK FASTER. THEN WE COULD HEAR IT BREATHING AND GRUNTING. MY REAL GOOD FRIEND FINALLY PANICKED AND TOOK OFF RUNNING FULL SPEED. MY FRIEND WAS VERY ATHLETIC AND FIT WAS VERY FAST. THIS THING TOOK OFF TOO. IT WAS A VERY BRIGHT FULL MOON NIGHT AND I COULD SEE AND HEAR TREES AND FOLIAGE BENDING AND SNAPPING. I AM NOT A RUNNER AND I WAS TOO SCARED TO RUN. I CROUCHED DOWN IN THE DITCH TO THE LEFT OF ME. THEN I STARTED WALKING IN THE DITCH. IT WAS TAKING TOO LONG TO WALK THE DITCH SO I WENT BACK TO THE ROAD AND WALKED LIKE NORMAL WITH SOME JOGGING. NO MORE RACKET FROM THE WOODS. I EVENTUALLY MADE IT TO THE HIGHWAY AND CAUGHT UP WITH MY FRIEND WAITING IN FRONT OF A CLOSED BAR. HE WAS SOAKED FROM SWEAT. WE WALKED TO HIS PARENTS HOUSE GRABBED SOME GAS AND A VEHICLE AND RETRIEVED MY CAR. WE LEFT MY CAR IN A SMALL CEMETERY. THE NEXT DAY I WANTED TO LOOK AT THE AREA IN THE DAYLIGHT. MY FRIEND HAD NO INTEREST IN THIS EXHIBITION. I WENT BACK AND IT WAS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO TRAVERSE THE WOODS WHERE WE ENCOUNTERED THIS THING. THE TOTAL AREA OF WOODS THIS
THING STALKED US WAS PROBABLY AN 1/8TH MILE. THE WHOLE WOODED AREA WAS A CHAOTIC AND DENSE AREA. NO TRAILS OR CLEARING IN THE AREA OF INTEREST. A LOT OF BROKEN BRANCHES AND BENT BUSHES. I COULDN'T WALK THROUGH IT AND WAS GETTING TO SCRATCHED UP. THE OTHER THING OF INTEREST... THE AREA THE THING WAS RUNNING THROUGH WAS AT LEAST 6 FEET LOWER THAN THE ROAD. I COULD BARELY SEE THE ROAD.
THANK YOU BRUCE. OF COURSE I DON'T KNOW. BUT APPLYING BASIC COMMON SENSE TO THE SITUATION I KNEW IT WASN'T A BEAR AND I KNEW IT HAD TO BE BIG AND HEAVY AND STRONG TO BEND AND BREAK TRESS AND FOLIAGE. AT THE TIME, MY FRIEND AND I REFERRED TO IT AS BIGFOOT BUT WE DIDN'T THINK SO. THIS WAS 1980. NOW... FLASH FORWARD TO 2015. I AM ON THE NET ND LOOKING AT A BIGFOOT SITE. THERE IS A SECTION WHERE YOU CAN LOOKUP AREAS IN YOUR STATE FOR BIGFOOT SIGHTINGS AND REPORTS. THIS HAPPENED IN TUALATIN OREGON. SURE ENOUGH...'80 TO '83 A LOT OF
REPORTS. TUALATIN HAS A COUPLE OF RAIL LINES RUNNING THROUGH IT THERE IS A RIVER THAT RUNS THROUGH IT AS WELL AS SEVERAL CREEKS. AND ELECTRICAL TOWERS. A LOT OF THICK WILDERNESS. TONQUIN OREGON IS 2 MILES SOUTH AND THAT IS AN OLD QUARRY TOWN AND IS STILL VERY DENSE. AT THAT TIME THIS AREA COULD SUPPORT A BIGFOOT... FOD AND WATER SOURCES AND PLENTY OF PLACES TO HIDE.

well i know there have been a number of sitings in and around martin city mt for years
i know some people that were even interviewed on the news probably 10 yrs ago
if you knew the area you could see why. its a conduit that goes into the bob marshall
i live in a really secl;uded deep forest area and i wouldnt be surprised at all. ive got some really exotcf animals there
i bet theres a way to call them or lure them with noise

Hello, and yes your probably going to get exposed to some strange people! I have had an incredible encounter many years ago but did not actually see the animals causing the fear and noise. I am an experienced hunter and dont easily misunderstand what i hear and see in the woods. I have always been interested in finding answers and talking to like minded individuals but in doing so I have exposed myself to a community of unscrupulous people with which I have no interest in sharing anything with. If you can tell me about your motivation and interest in hearing from others, it will help me to determine whether or not to proceed. Thanks,
I agree, I scratch my head at their association with that man and a few others. But you are right, he is the voice of reason! I tried to find the episode on YouTube of my interview but it seems to be gone. You may have to go to their website. It was episode 10 A hunters encounter. They may be upset with me as I accused them of promoting B/S. But that was a few years ago. I have had a few experiences in the woods during hunts but never a sighting! For me, It proves nothing to myself! I still often hunt alone and even camp alone but I pay extra attention to what s around. In fact, I just returned from a solo elk hunt up in the Mt. St. Helens area not far from where those miners had their ordeal! If you cant find the episode , I will recount the experience to. While I do not have any experience with Dr. Meldrum, I do have respect for his position on the subject matter but also question his association with individuals known to be questionable. I wish I could have spoken with Mr. John Bindernagel before he past! About 3 or 4 years ago I contacted a fledgling group I stumbled across on line and was coerced into telling my account on their newly formed Podcast. I was reluctant to come on the podcast as I do no want attention from my experience, but they talked me into it. I just wanted some answers to either support my encounter or to be able to dismiss it. I soon regretted my decision to have done so and made that perfectly known to the group by Email. I to this day day am not 100% sure what I experienced, whether a prank or something Real! I am leaning towards something real based on my outdoor experience. Anyway, if your interested in the account, you can listen to the edited interview on Sasquatch Chronicles eps10. You can find it on YouTube or on their website. Im not promoting them! The account is true to the best of my recollection. If your still have questions, I will give you my number and we can talk. I will not however do another recorded interview or anything of that nature. I will merely give my account of what happened and details of the location. I am not a liar nor inclined to make up stories. It happened! I dont care if the "bigfoot experts" believe it or not! I have come to believe that if there were any "Experts", this issue would by now be resolved! I have found many experts to be incredibly dishonest and deceptive anyway!
My family has been hunting in the vicinity since the 40s. I spend most of my time hunting in between St helens and Adams. I grew up hunting in and around Skookum meadows where infamous body cast was made. i dont buy it! i dont stick to trails, I beat the brush and go cross country and have yet to find any evidence there. I think that people are creating evidence. If you look too hard, youre going to find something and deceive yourself. Some people are easily excitable, some are treasure hunting , and still others are just looking for attention! Myself, I just want the truth on this subject. To know definitively whether these creatures are real or not! If I had been more brave 30 years ago, I would likely know!

i grew up in trinity county (weaverville) and would often ride my motorcycle on a dirt road i was able to go around the green gates the forest service put on certain decommisioned roads i rode near a small pond in the woods the trail is narrow and the trees grew together closely so it makes the woods darker than normal i came around the corner before the thick woods and the back of my neck felt weird like something was watching me then i saw a large hairy tall creature on two legs who looked at me then ran into woods. it was around 8 feet tall and 600 pounds. i did not go after it rather i went home

There used to be a guy in Walla Walla who had several encounters with Bigfoot. His name was Wes . Wes used to say that the best bait to get Bigfoot to come to you was Snickers Candy Bars. I have a friend who lives in the Blue Mountains just out of Milton Freewater who always said that Wes did not know what he was talking about. My friend said the best bait he found was Lucky Lager Beer. He said Bigfoot could not pass up Lucky Lager

The suquamish bark man . I was 14 or 15 exploring the wood behind my house . I seen what looked almost primate almost his skin looks like pinetree bark and in the space between the bark skin was Simi long hair . He moved fast and almost was perfectly Camouflage with the forest. That's my closest encounter with what I can perceive a Bigfoot.
I was in the suquamish woods in Kitsap county. I say it was between 7 maybe 8 feet tall . About 2000 meters from my house. I've been told by other people who live in suquamish that there been 7 other people who said the same thing that I saw.

It drives me crazy, but I brought my mom hiking to a popular lake (Clear Lake in Skagit County?) and she saw a bigfoot. This was roughly 20 years ago. I was visiting my parents, and my mom was hiking the trail that winds the perimeter of the lake. I went to look for her (trailing behind but I'm much quicker) and she came scurrying out by of the woods insisting she saw a young bigfoot climb a tree to get away from her. "It wasn't a bear," she argued. She described it as looking more like an orangutan than a bear. I'll ask her to message you and elaborate on her experience, but she still gets mad at me for laughing and teasing her. .

This took place in Orofino Idaho.
I was waiting with a friend near a body shop on the edge of town for the rest of our group to meet up with us and go camping at a beach. We were sitting on a trailer next to the railroad tracks there around 10pm.
We heard something that sounded like wood knocking against wood in a rythmic pattern. It would go a few times and stop for a minute or so. It sounded like it was really far away, but Orofino is in a valley so sound can travel very far.
I remembered hearing that primates sometimes let one another know where they are over long distances by "woodknocking."
At this point I'd like to say I'm the idiot that likes to provoke situations like this out of pure curiosity. I grabbed a board and went over to a light post, where I began to mimick the pattern. It came back in a different pattern and sounded like it was hitting the wood together much harder, almost excitedly. I did it again, changing up the pattern but there was no response.
Several minutes had passed when we heard it again, much closer. My friend advised against knocking more, but as I mentioned earlier, I'm dangerously curious. I knocked some more and then it responded and I responded. Then, it was quiet again.
Several more minutes passed and it knocked again, this time maybe a hundred yards away. At this point we were both freaking out a bit because the distance this thing had traveled in such a short time was astonishing.
I, yet again being a curious idiot, knocked some more. It started banging back. At that point I dropped the board and went to sit next to my friend. To our left was an enormous blackberry bush on the hillside. It was at least 6-7 feet tall. We heard some rustling and looked that way. To our disbelief whatever was in the brush was standing upright and we could see the silhouette of it's shoulders and head easily above the bushes (Not only did this thing have to be around 7-9 feet tall but it didn't give a shit about the thorns it was waking through).
We froze. It couldn't have been a bear because it's silhouette had a flat face. Then it turned our way. My friend started to speak (later I'd find out he was going to say What the fuck is that) but it interrupted him. Not only by beginning to crash through the brush in our direction, but roaring at the same time.
The noise it made was something unlike anything I've ever heard. To try and describe it is almost laughable. It was a ridiculously loud roar deep like an angry bear, yet high pitched at the same time like the howl of a wolf, and the roar shook like the bah of a sheep. We ran as fast as we could. By the time we looked back it was gone.
To this day I believe that I saw Bigfoot.
I'm glad to tell it. We were in disbelief of the encounter itself but with it obviously being bipedal and making the sound it made we knew it couldn't be explained by anything "ordinary." I don't think it shook my beliefs on what's out there because I've always believed in Bigfoot. It happened either in 2011 or 2012.

In History, we know about Rare Animals because of Dead Caracasses or Feces. DoDo Birds, Giant Squids, Snow Leapords, 6gill Sharks, etc.....
If Science controls 99.9% of your lives daily, why ignore the .01% that says Bigfoot are not real? A simple litmus test.
I dont understand people who rely on Science for EVERYTHING in their daily lives. Food, Shelter, Medicine, Transportation, Landscaping, Recreation, etc.
Science LITERALLY controls 99.9% of your life everyday, or is shaped or controlled by it. Yet people ignore it for Religion, Political or Self Serving reasons. I will never understand.
Im Native American. Muckleshoot. Remember most stories have a Kernel of Truth. Bears were not well known until 1600's Stories before then most likely confuse the two. I would encourage you to look into Alaskan & Canadian Native Stories. They grew up with Bears. Compare their stories to other Tribes nowhere near Bears.
You cannot use your current mental understanding to percieve the stories,
You assign improper meanings unconsciously and heavily biased. Its hard to put yourself into a mindset void of current technologies to understand the origin or point of the story. Stories were Truth sprinkled with "Entertainment" over time.....

I saw something I cannot explain running down a grassy slope into the trees by Dixie Wa. In 2006. It was not a bear, too big, too black. Theres film from Dixie, and the Watershed is near. A very sober friend found a huge print in a gopher mound while hunting the Watershed. I've heard a noises a whole lifetime in the woods cant explain up near Headquarters Idaho. No, theres something out there that doesnt want to be seen.
The Nez Perce had a name for bigfoot type creatures they saw. They roamed from the Wallowas, thru the Blues Mountains, all the way to Montana. Theres no reason to name something that doesn't exist. I've hunted Joseph Plains, and the backside ok f the old Whitebird, I could see bigfoot in living there.

When I was small my parents owned a small RV they parked on a rural piece of property in Northern California we (me my sister and our parents). One afternoon I was sitting outside watching the sky and I saw a Sasquatch.
I was 8. It was 1978. I was fascinated. It acted like it belonged and wasn't worried who knew it was there. I think mostly I was fascinated, drawn to him.

I'll tell you my one story, about near Dixie Wa. But I would honestly and fairly like to listen to your stories as well. I'm leaning more towards the believer my self. I've seen and heard some things that 40 years being in the woods, in the dark deep and secret parts of the forest, that I cannot explain.
That would be a great trip! I need to plan something for fall and that would be so cool then. Its pretty amazing to me , Bruce that theres more evidence. I talk to my friends that fall as loggers and either they stop talking or say the equipment is too loud. But my best friend, I've known him since 1976, and hes been logging and living in Clarkia Idaho for 30 years plus. When I get him liquored up and quiz him he goes silent. This is as close as I have to a brother, and he would rather die than lie, I know from his reaction and the look on his face hes seen things in the floodwoods he would rather forget than tell. I half jokingly told my kids I was going to be a sasquatch hunter. Now I'm retired and I'm pretty serious. I'll go out by myself if I have to. I was honing to go there to cusit anyway lil

My children and I sighted something across a creek and up a mountain side walking that I can only describe as bigfoot. It was up past Idaho City 4 summers ago. I also had a scary experience a few weeks later that same summer and same campground with rocks being thrown at my tent very late one night. My neighbor in spot next to us had same thing 2 nights later. Also ran into another family who had a few experiences as well. Amd a camper disappeared from what I heard around there too.
Well thank you for speaking out. I have told a few people and they just laugh at me. I'm not good with distance but if I had to guess I'd say straight shot it was a little under a quarter mile. If you go 8 miles past Idaho City towards lowman on the left side of hwy is bear creek campground. We were at the campsite closest to the hwy. It was across the creek and hwy moving up the mountain side almost at the peak. The boulders it was walking next to must have been at least 3 feet tall and they were above it's knee. It was a light brown color almost orange/brown. My kids spotted it and I thought it was just a bear til we used binoculars to see it a little better. My heart skipped a beat when I realized it was walking upright. My mind was trying to rationalize why a man was walking in a monkey suit up a mountain side. A week and a half later when we were coming back around midnight to our campsite from re-supplying in Boise, I put my kids in the tent and was getting what we needed from our van and I could feel someone watching me. I even yelled out that I had a gun and if they didn't announce themselves I would fire. Not a word from the forest, not even crickets. I hurried up and got in the tent and when I locked my van with my button from in the tent and the lights lit up, seconds later something hit the tent right where I was standing. I repeated this 2 more times and had something hit the tent 2 more times.(Found 3 rocks by the opening of tent next morning & they were not there prior. I know because we swept the area literally with a broom the day before. We were living up there so we made it comfy.) Scarred me so bad I didn't sleep a wink. All I could hear was sticks breaking from a small distance around us all night. 2 days later my neighbor had rocks thrown at his truck camper as well. I even reported it to the ranger and he of course said it was probably local teens messing with us. I know what I saw and will never forget it either. My kids can remember it as well and it's not easy trying to explain that to little people. Anyway I hope this helps. And thanks for believing me. Makes me not feel so crazy.

Hey your not along. I myself have seen something not man not animal. Big foot what ever. I not an nut or im i a 15 mins of fame person. But id montana border is an active spot. Near kids lake and cedar log lake. Been goin there for 45 year. Every year and i keep hearing seeing whatever. Im almost 50 my dad born in montana my great grandmother is full native American. No problem. My brother last month went camping with his grandkids and had one come into camp at night. He called me at 3am just to make sure i knew where they was. When i got up there by the mine i seen tracks but could not prove one way or other but my brother is a church going straight norrow kind of guy so i know if he seen it he did. So now rain stop and im going back up tjis weekend.
My brothers andvsister know i believe in bigfoot and ufo and a few more things. Saying this they always like to kid around about it. This time he thought i was playing a game on him. After he knew i was home and no one was around other then his party he went with. He went on a small hike deeper into the woods. There is where he got his proof. Looking down th creek bed he thought he seen a man. It was not. Him and his party look for hrs i even went up but i had not luck.
He said it about 700 plus yards away tall 6'2" 200 pounds easily also hairy mor then he thought
A truck driver last year near there said same thing but when he went back bc he thought he hit it. Said it was gone. You now that state like most other pay a hidden fee for research on big foot. It was on new about 2 year ago

About 15 years ago I was up hunting near yellow pine. I just step over a log and saw the biggest footprint of my life. I measured my feet against it and it was 2+1/2 of my feet. I am a size 8 women shoe. I ran back to my cabin to get my camera but when I got back 3 people on horse back already went over the log before I could get a picture. Everybody laughs at me when I tell them. But I know what I saw. Hope this helps. Yes, I did. 6 toes and and it was bigger than both of my feet heal to toe. Same structure as ours, with a instep. Wish I had gotten a picture of it.

yes ive seen them but i can not tell you where becouse of there safety. I will tell you they are in Oregon and Idaho
Yes me my girlfriend my best friend his girlfriend and my mom were in a motor home coming from idaho to Washington and we took a break from driving at a rest area. Me and my friend was sitting in the front two seats while my mom and the to girls were cooking some breakfast in the back. While talking with my friend i noticed something real big moving bye a tree about 50 feet in front of the motor home and my friend said he can see it moving too. So we had my mom and tbe two girls come look out the front window of the motor home while i turn on the lights. Well i turned them on and there was two big foots, one was about 7 foot tall and the other was around 9 foot. As soon as the light were turned on the smaller one took off in the woods and the taller one screamed out load and swung his arm above his head and broke a branch on a big pine tree then tured around and walked in the woods. After about a hour went bye it stared getting light out so me and my friend got out walked ove to the tree that he broke the branch on. That branch was about 5 inches around and about 15 feet off the ground was the stub that the branch was broke off of.
It made me want to go out and film some but unfortunately i never found a partner to go with me. Either there to scared or not trust worthy to keep the whereabouts of these creatures and i really dont want to go out in the woods bye myself. Ive had other friends in Oregon that have crossed paths with them too.
