Who is Owyhee Jack?

Persona Owyhee Jack (aka Bruce V. Wiegers) is a long-term resident of Boise, Idaho. By means of: hiking, snowshoeing, canoeing, dirt biking, and ATV riding, he has spent the past 50+ years exploring the far reaches and hidden corners of Idaho and the Pacific Northwest. These exploits have resulted in a deep love and respect for nature and the outdoors that he wishes to share with others. By building a community of outdoor enthusiasts, we can better protect these vital resources and help ensure everyone stays safe.

Along his journey, Bruce learned much about emergency preparations and survival techniques. Unfortunately, this was often as a result of his own personal exciting first-hand experiences! This website shares Bruce’s knowledge and love of the outdoors which he learned via the School of Hard Knocks; hopefully preventing the reader from having to learn them the same way Bruce did.
